Big Creek Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church located in the Kiamichi Mountains of southern LeFlore County in Oklahoma.  Heavener, Oklahoma is nearest town to our community of Haw Creek.

The Church has existed for over 80+ years and supports the LeFlore Baptist Association, the General Baptist Convention of Oklahoma, and the Southern Bapatist Convention. Our average Sunday School Attendance is around 120 with attendance for the worship service nearing 175+.

We are a mission-minded church involving ourselves in the Cooperative Program and beyond with local mission efforts to include: BCM at Carl Albert State College in Poteau, OK;  Kiamichi Baptist Association (KBA) Campground, Father’s Day Offering; Jim Hamilton Prison Ministry located in Hodgen, OK; Grace Cottage and Women’s Crisis Pregnancy Center in Poteau, OK and the Veteran’s Home in Talihina, Ok to name a few.  The church has also opened the Big Creek Hispanic Mission in the former Petros Baptist Church facility located south of Heavener, OK.

Big Creek has been characterized as a conservative, traditional congregation. We still believe in the importance of God-inspired hymns and prefer the King James Version in the service and in our Sunday School and Discipleship Training Classes.

We have a bivocational Youth Director that works with our youth and provides an outreach to those youth that live in the community, as well as Heavener.  Our Youth Director, Chad Loper, has been on staff for over 4 years.  We have a salaried treasurer and janitor for the church.  Our music minister has been here for the last 12 years.  In addition to the Christmas Cantata and the Children’s Christmas Program, we have a very musically talented congregation that minister here and in other churches and venues around the area.
